27 Days, 27 Players: The Tide Times Breaks Down the #1 Recruiting Class in the Nation via Rivals.com

By Dan Harralson

Day 4: D.J. Fluker (OL - Foley, AL.) D.J. is a five-star recruit who stands at 6'7, 350 lbs. He runs an impressive 4.9 in the 40, benches 275 lbs. (max), and squats 525 lbs. (max.) Fluker committed to Alabama way back on November 7, 2007. He entertained offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU (by Josh Henson), Oklahoma, and Texas Tech. He did not take another official visit other than Tuscaloosa, which he took on January 9th. Fluker is expected to come in and contribute right away, possibly taking over for departed Andre Smith. Fluker did play on both sides of the ball in high school. It is still expected that he may play on the defensive side of the ball, but that will be determined after/during fall practice. None the less, D.J. Fluker is an extraordinary player who will try and aim to join Chris Samuels and Andre Smith as University of Alabama Outland Trophy winner's at The Capstone.
