27 Days, 27 Players: The Tide Times Breaks Down the #1 Recruiting Class via Rivals.com

By Dan Harralson

Day 7: Eddie Lacy (RB - Geismar, LA - Dutchtown) Eddie is a four-star recruit from the state of Louisiana. He committed to Bama on January 23rd. Alabama was one of two official visits Lacy took (recruited by Burton Burns.) Lane Kiffin came on strong during the month of January. The 5'11, 210 lbs. running back visited Knoxville on January 30th (Recruited by Frank Wilson.) Other schools that showed interest were LSU (Gary Crowton), Ole Miss (Kim Dameron), Mississippi State, Oklahoma, and Southern Miss. Eddie runs a 4.4 forty and has a 33 inch vertical. As a Junior he eclipsed his best season rushing for 1,800 yards and scoring 26 touchdowns. By landing Eddie Lacy, it still shows Coach Nick Saban can walk into the state of Louisiana and still recruit at the highest level (against the monster program he built in LSU.)
