THE MILLION DOLLAR BAND WILL NOT BE TRAVELING TO LEXINGTON OCTOBER 3RD

By Dan Harralson

Nick Taylor of The Tide Times has been informed that The Million Dollar Band will not be traveling to the October 3rd matchup at Kentucky. The athletic department has made this decision based on "cutting back athletic expenses." There have been times in the past where a pep band has been sent to road games but according to the band member and source of the story there will be NO BAND TRAVELING TO LEXINGTON AT ALL... This will be the first true 2009 road game and second SEC matchup, following a September 26th showdown with Arkansas in Tuscaloosa. The last time the Tide traveled to Lexington (in 2004), Mike Shula and Spencer Pennington came away with a 45-17 win. Ken Darby and Ray Hudson both rushed for 99 yards and the Tide produced 304 yards on the ground. The Million Dollar Band will be missed in The Commonwealth.
